The first responsibility your participants will see you fulfill as chair of a meeting is hosting the meeting. This means welcoming participants like guests and helping them feel comfortable and clear what to expect.

For your ‘meet and greet’ the best way to make people feel at home and to start a conversation is with the FROGS framework.
Then, when you kick off the formal part of chairing your meeting, play host by:
– setting the mood
– explaining the purpose and outcomes
– clarifying any ground rules
– making introductions
– inviting participation
