LESSON NOTES
============
11 Features of Organizations – the things that organizations need:

 Mission, Goals, Objectives
A sense of Direction…
 Strategy
…and how to get there
 Processes
And systems
 Structures
How people relate
 Physical Resources
Assets, equipment, and materials
 People
There’s a better word for ‘human resources’: people
 Culture
Norms of behavior, shared values
 Governance
Defied authorities, responsibilities, and oversight. Policies
 Knowledge
Intellectual capital, capabilities, skills
 Memory
Cultural and experiential memory. Storage, learning lessons, archiving
 Technology
It’s hard to conceive of a modern organization managing without some form of appropriate technology – even if it’s just pencils, paper, tables, and the wheel.
